Australian toxicology research shows those with violent tendencies and behavioral problems do have a tendency to get more 'feral' during a full moon.

Clinical research Leonie Calver noticed that a great number of subjects who possessed violent behavior during a full moon also were under the influence of drugs or alcohol, similar to those of centuries ago who believed to be werewolves.  They would cover themselves in ointment to 'transform'; which probably consisted of belladonna and nightshade, both of which can cause delirium and hallucinations.
