Arizona astrophysicist believes we should 'scour' the Earth for signs of ancient aliens

If smart aliens exist, they may have visited Earth millions of years ago – and left signs of their technological prowess that should be cheap and easy for us to detect. So says astrophysicist Paul Davies of Arizona State University in Tempe. Traditionally, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has focused on listening for deliberate dispatches in radio signals. London girl who was moments away from death...miraculously saved by Catholic priests holy water

Lucy Hussey-Bergonzi was expected to die after she collapsed from a brain haemorrhage. Her parents called in a Catholic priest to baptise her as they prayed and prepared to say their goodbyes. After enthusiastic fund-raiser (including Jodie Foster) SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) gets back to searching for alien life!

Citizens of the world: You are awesome. This week the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute announced that it had raised more than $200,000 from a crowd-sourced fundraising effort that launched this spring. The money, which came from just over 2,000 people who want to keep the search for alien life alive, will help the institute put its Allen Telescope Array back online.

Stolen Yeti claw and scalp replica's to be returned to Nepal monastery where they were stolen from twenty years ago

Mike Allsop will fly from Kathmandu to the Everest region on Friday to take the models to Pangboche Monastery, which sits at 4,000m (13,123ft).  The originals were stolen from the monastery in the 1990s.  They first came to light in the 1950s when an expedition to find the mythical yeti came upon the monastery.
Mr Allsop will also take with him a replica of a yeti skull-cap, which was also stolen in the 1990s.

For many alien enthusiasts, Jill Tarter is synonymous with the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. As the SETI Institute’s research director — and the inspiration for Jodie Foster’s character in Contact — she’s done more than anyone to raise the search for cosmic company from a fringe effort to serious science.  After receiving a TED prize in 2009, Tarter had grand plans for the Allen Telescope Array, a proposed field of 350 big-nosed radio dishes that would be the world’s only dedicated SETI telescope, as well as its most sensitive. But this week, budget cuts forced the ATA’s existing 42 dishes into hibernation mode. The rest are now just a dream.

South African 'shape-changing' monster reappears over weekend...and pictures are taken, but yet to surface!

A ‘monster’ plaguing the sleepy Karoo town of Steytlerville struck again over the Easter weekend, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.  Another two sightings of the "shape-shifting creature" were reported on Sunday evening, said Warrant Officer Zandisile Nelani .

SETI releases Android phone app which allows users to help 'hunt' for aliens

The Seti Institute launched a private beta test on Thursday of SetiQuest Explorer in the hope that amateur astronomers will help with tasks that cannot be done well by computers. The app runs on Android 2.2 but will be available on the iPhone this summer. There is also a desktop version for any computer running Flash Player 10.2. "We want to tap into the brain power of the world," Jill Tarter, director of the non-profit Seti (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute, said.

British Wiccan warlock pleads authorities to release him from indoor probation due to religious reasons

a warlock who worships the goddess of the moon, curfews can be a bit of a hindrance.  So when Cerwyn Jones found himself being punished by a court for carrying a five-inch ceremonial knife in a pub he was quick to plead special Wiccan circumstances.  The 52-year-old was sentenced to four months of staying indoors between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

Astrologers believe 'supermoon' may be at fault for the Japanese earthquake

The powerful tsunami that today slammed into Japan's eastern coast comes just two days after warnings that the movement of the moon could trigger unpredictable events on Earth.  Astrologers predicted that on March 19 - a week tomorrow - the so-called 'supermoon' will be closer to Earth than at any time since 1992, just 221,567 miles away, and that its gravitational pull will bring chaos to Earth.

SETI says that if we want to talk to aliens...we should learn to speak to dolphins!

The Kepler Space Telescope announced a new bonanza of distant planets this month, reconfirming that solar systems, some possibly hosting life, are common in the universe.  So if humanity someday arrives at an extraterrestrial cocktail party, will we be ready to mingle? Ghost hunting family capture spooky images at old, abandoned church in South Carolina

My son and I went to South Carolina to visit his godmother Joy and her husband last weekend, Joy is also a believer in the paranormal and there is a church that is on a one lane dirt road out in the middle of no-where called Horns Creek Baptist Church dated back to 1790. There is a small cemetary on the side and a few graves in the back. All seemed to be dated in the 1800's and in need of repair. One is a little girl who died at age 2. Very sad. Anyways, we pulled up and got out of the truck and walked up the wooden steps into the church. What caught my eye was what appeared to be 2 peep holes.

Experts believe Mars may have fossilized life hidden withing it's rocks

The team made their discovery in the ancient rocks of Nili Fossae.  Their work has revealed that this trench on Mars is a "dead ringer" for a region in Australia where some of the earliest evidence of life on Earth has been buried and preserved in mineral form.  They report the findings in the journal Earth and Planetary Science Letters.
