Japanese spiritual business gura arrested for breaking organized crime laws and stealing millions in 'prayer fee's'

The leader of a company known for pitching so-called spiritual-pressure sales has been arrested for swindling customers out of more than 13 million yen, police said. Canadian psychic dodges Amazing Randy and his million dollar challenge

A Toronto-based medium denies she's ducking a $1 million challenge from a skeptic organization to prove her powers. Psychic Nikki was reacting to a statement put out Tuesday by James Randi, founder of the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF), which has called on the Toronto medium to accept the challenge. School girl miraculously returns to life in Zimbabwe morgue!

The school authorities had earlier sent the girl home so she could get treatment after she had complained of a severe headache. She reportedly collapsed while at home, resulting in her being rushed to a medical centre in the Avenues.  “It appears she had not died, but had fallen into a comma and she regained consciousness while in the mortuary, perhaps because of the cold. Fortunately an attendant heard her coughing and assisted her,” said a teacher at the school.

Texas police were investigating whether a tip-off from a psychic about a mass grave containing dozens of dismembered bodies was in fact a hoax after an intense search found no bodies.  State, local and federal agents combed the area around a rural home after a woman who claimed to be psychic called police twice to report the mass grave at in Hardin, Texas about 50 miles (31 kilometers) northeast of Houston.

Italian art historian believes the Shroud of Turin dates back to the Italian artist Giotto di Bondone in 1315

Luciano Buso claims to have found Giotto di Bondone's signature hidden in the 14ft-long, sepia-coloured burial cloth, as well as the number 15.  The historian believes that the number is a reference to 1315, and that the artist was commissioned in that year to come up with an exact copy of the relic because the original was badly damaged after centuries of being hawked around the Holy Land and Europe.

Australian Department of Defense claims it accidentally lost it's UFO 'X-files'

The Department of Defence has ''lost'' its X-Files.  For decades, Defence officials dutifully investigated an unknown number of UFO sightings being reported all over the country. Intelligence officers attached to the Royal Australian Air Force checked the known movement of aircraft against reported sightings, and politely responded by mail to everyone who claimed they saw floating lights or flat saucers or streaking vapour trails. A woman claiming to be a psychic will be arraigned today on 36 felony counts relating to commercial burglary, credit fraud and grand theft against an Irvine woman. Arizona lawyer suspended for attempting to channel client's dead spouse

A hearing officer in Arizona has recommended a six-month suspension for a lawyer accused of claiming that she was possessed by the spirit of a client's dead wife, then lying about in an unrelated disciplinary matter.  The lawyer, Charna Johnson, testified in the subsequent disciplinary hearing on the channeling claims that vague references to sex in e-mails she sent to the client were from the client’s deceased wife, and there was no sexual contact, according to the hearing officer’s report (PDF). The National Law Journal has the story.  The hearing on the channeling allegations pitted two experts who disagreed on whether Johnson must have been delusional. A state expert said that’s the inevitable conclusion, since there is no scientific evidence to support channeling, while Johnson’s expert said that’s an inappropriate value judgment that may contravene the religious beliefs of millions of people.

Mysterious phone number calling people and killing them in Kenya was a hoax!

Kenyan officials have moved to quell growing hysteria sparked by rumour that a ghostly red number was appearing on mobile phones and killing people. The rumours swept like wildfire among the residents in the capital, Nairobi and other major towns on Tuesday night, with many forwarding the stories to their friends, families and colleagues via text messages, warning them not to receive calls which will appear in a red colour.
According to the report the calls was in high radiation or high frequency that causes brain haemorrhage, leading to death instantly .

Satanists wish to rent Oklahoma City Civic Center for ceremony to exorcise God!

Florida psychic and con artist sentenced to 18 months in prison

A Broward fortune teller, who police describe as a well-known scam-artist, will spend 18 months in prison, a Broward judge ordered Wednesday. Gina Marie Marks, 37, was already serving 18 months probation for swindling a woman out of nearly $300,000 when she was arrested in October.  Marks pleaded guilty Wednesday to grand theft, two counts of organized fraud and admitted to violating her probation. She also turned in a $400,000 check to partially repay her victims, according to The Sun Sentinel.

Virginia family of psychics accused of scamming millions from clients

Celia Marks began reading palms and tarot cards in Hampton Roads more than 50 years ago. She handed down the centuries-old tradition to her children and grandchildren, who opened their own shops throughout the region and across the country.  The family has a colorful history. During a feud 80 years ago, one relative bit off a chunk of another's nose. Five years ago, three Markses were convicted of stealing from clients.  Now, the family faces what could be its most serious challenge yet: Two of Celia's sons were charged in a federal indictment for allegedly stealing millions from life insurance companies, and authorities are looking for two other family members. In all, six people were charged.
