Indian government to pass bill banning human sacrafice, black magic and other magical practices

Chanting to cure snakebites, claiming to be a reincarnated spouse to obtain sex, and charging for miracles could soon be banned by an Indian state seeking to stop charlatans preying on the vulnerable. Many superstitions are widely held in India but a campaign group is lobbying hard for a new law in the western state of Maharashtra to outlaw several exploitative activities, with penalties of fines or up to seven years in jail. New Hampshire commemorates the site of the famous Betty and Barney Hill UFO abduction
Many states might shy away from immortalizing its UFO history. But the State of New Hampshire is known for its fiercely independent people and its “live free or die” motto. On July 20, 2011, it erected a historical marker to commemorate the September 19-20, 1961 close encounter and “lost” time of Portsmouth residents Betty and Barney Hill.

Cursed British arcade owner willing to pay two grand to whoever can help break the curse!

Doug Hill, who owns The Gauntlet shopping arcade in the town, received the curse disguised as a sympathy card.  Mr Hill said: "What they're doing is messing with people's lives, but I'm not taking the curse seriously."  The inside of the card includes symbols such as an inverted pentagram and Latin phrases.

School house in South Park haunted....South Park Pennsylvania, not Colorado!

With as long a history as many buildings in the Pittsburgh area have, it's no wonder that some people have tales of hauntings.  Channel 4 Action News' Sheldon Ingram tagged along with paranormal research group Steel Town Paranormal to examine the storied, and possibly spooky, history of one local structure -- the Broughton School in South Park.

Chinese villagers mistake malnourished monkey for alien life form!
This ape made a monkey of Chinese villagers who feared it was a visitor from another world.  Locals panicked when Mao Xiping, a housewife from the village of Gezhai, in Henan province, central China, found the scraggy simian stealing cucumbers from her flat.

A pir (healer/ exorcist) in Khanewal, Pakistan rids asthmatic girl of djinn by beating and burning, resulting in crippling her!
According to a nurse at Nishtar Hospital, Katchi Abadi resident Zakia was taken to a local pir by her family after she began to have an asthma attack. The pir, Safdar Khan, took the woman into a room and tied her up with rope. He then stuck a burning poker through her wrists and feet and beat her bloody with a stick.

British ex-banking consultant moves to Africa and becomes a witchdoctor!
Thomas Heathfield, 32, whose family hail from Maidenhead in Berkshire, renounced sleep for three days, rose at 2.30am to dance for the tribal ancestors and vomited up goats' bloods as part of his training to become a "sangoma".  He slept out in the bush, wore traditional robes and was sent to hunt for the animal body parts hidden by locals in the remote village of Mangweni, close to the Mozambican border in Mpumalanga province.

Romanian witches get legal recognition as a legitimate profession...but now have to pay taxes!  Witches threaten to curse tax collectors!
Romania's witches vow to take revenge on tax-hungry politicians. Self-declared witches in Romania are preparing to curse the country's rulers publicly for taxing their profession under an amended labour law. Poisonous mandrake plants are due to be hurled into the River Danube and queen witch Bratara Buzea has devised a spell involving cat dung and a dead dog.  Income tax of 16% and health and pension payments have been imposed.

Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia man leaves wife and children (but takes their savings), due to advice by local medium who claimed the the wife was a deadly demon!

A superstitious husband stopped having sex with his wife after a temple medium convinced him she was a danger to his life. The wife, who only wanted to be known as Loh, said her husband has now abandoned her and their two teenage children and is refusing to meet them as he fears for his life.
