UFO over Jerusalem just a marketing stunt for UFO blockbuster coming out this Summer?

It's the footage that has true believers in a spin.  Several videos posted to YouTube last week appear to show a strange ball of light hovering above a Jerusalem shrine before disappearing into the night. At first the clips, shot from different angles, seemed convincing -- or at least like an elaborate hoax.

Ghost of headless monk forces British amusement park to move location of their Storm Surge ride!

A headless monk, a sudden chill, objects moving of own accord.  A new ride at an amusement park? No, the strange, seemingly paranormal, behaviour was experienced by workmen building a water ride at Thorpe Park, one of the country's biggest theme parks.  There were reports of workers feeling like someone was watching over their shoulder and sudden cold feelings being experienced.

Derbyshire salon employees believe they have ghostly footage on their CCTV camera

T'S enough to make your customers' hair stand on end.  Staff at Derby salon Sally Montague believe they have caught a ghost on a security camera.  Workers at the Iron Gate hairdresser were checking CCTV footage after a receptionist had her phone stolen, and were shocked to see a ladder moving on its own.

Pope Benedict XVI claims 1970's culture is to blame for rampant pedophilia in Catholic Church!

Pope Benedict used his annual speech to Rome's cardinals and bishops on Monday (Dec. 20) to ask them to reflect on the church's responsibility in the child sex abuse scandals.  Benedict qualified his mea culpa by stating that the scandal (in which priests who sexually abused children were often ignored or protected by the Catholic Church) was partly justified by the broader social context. Benedict said that while the church accepted some responsibility, he could not be silent about ''the context of these times.... There is a market in child pornography that seems in some way to be considered more and more normal by society." [History of Pornography No More Prudent Than Present]  Benedict claimed that as recently as the 1970s, "pedophilia was theorized as something fully in conformity with man and even with children." In this climate, the Catholic Church's actions were merely reflecting the moral relativism of the times: "It was maintained — even within the realm of Catholic theology — that there is no such thing as evil in itself or good in itself," Benedict said. That is, church leaders weren't sure if child sexual abuse was wrong, since secular society seemed to accept it.

French village of Bugarach worries over 2010-End-of-the-World believers swamping the town due to rumors of it being one of the few sacred locations of safety from Armageddon!

Bugarach, population 189, is a peaceful farming village in the Aude region, southwestern France and sits at the foot of the Pic de Bugarach, the highest mountain in the Corbières wine-growing area.  But in the past few months, the quiet village has been inundated by groups of esoteric outsiders who believe the peak is an "alien garage".  According to them, extraterrestrials are quietly waiting in a massive cavity beneath the rock for the world to end, at which point they will leave, taking, it is hoped, a lucky few humans with them.  Most believe Armageddon will take place on December 21, 2012, the end date of the ancient Maya calendar, at which point they predict human civilisation will come to an end. The Lake Lure Inn hotel in North Carolina finds ghostly image in wedding snapshot

 A hotel in North Carolina finds itself in the middle of a spooky mystery.  The Lake Lure Inn was hosting a wedding anniversary reception, when the events and catering manager decided to snap a photo of the ice sculpture.  Some say the photo captured the ghostly image of a young boy on the left side of the picture.

Ghost haunts Texas county clerk office where she used to work!

They say she refused to leave her desk after she was voted out of office.  They say it took the sheriff and his deputies to forcibly evict her so the newly elected county clerk could start her term.  And now, they say, she's back.  "That woman drives us nuts sometimes," said Cynthia Jaqua, commissioners' court recorder in the county clerk's office. "There's all kind of strange things that happen."  Jaqua tells the story of how she had gone up to the attic to put away some papers and found the attic light on.  "I said, 'Somebody didn't turn out the light.' Then, bloop, the lights went out. I was nowhere near the light switch. Irene did it," Jaqua said.  Irene, who the folks in the county clerk's office refer to as "our ghost," would be the late Irene Nuhn, who was the Comal County clerk as late as the early 1980s.

Devil attacks school children in Trinidad

Panic broke out at the Moruga Composite School yesterday as 17 female students fell mysteriously ill and began rolling on the ground, hissing and blabbering in a strange tongue, after suffering bouts of nausea and headaches. Two of the students reportedly tried to throw themselves off a railing and had to be physically restrained, triggering fears of a possible demon attack. The drama started during the lunch hour in the Form One block and quickly spread to other areas. U.S. soldiers with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder hope to find recovery at Native American sweat lodges

It's late afternoon on the Colorado plains, and the sun is disappearing behind the ridge of mountains to the west of us, but all I can see is darkness.  I'm in a traditional Lakota sweat lodge, a 15-foot-wide dome of willow branches covered in thick moving blankets and canvas.  Inside the tiny lodge, 20 of us are shoulder to sweaty shoulder in burning pain. The ceremony leader sings a traditional song, pouring cup after cup of water onto the still-glowing rocks, increasing the heat until voices break the darkness in anguish. Mine would join them if I could, but the heat is like a hundred pounds of sand, pressing me down into submission.  Now I know what it feels like to touch hell.  The ceremony is called inipi, more commonly known as sweat lodge. It is one of seven sacred rites of the Lakota Sioux, and has also been used traditionally as a purification ceremony among many Native American nations.

Ghost sightings doubled after Canterbury earthquake

The "sheer strength and power" of the September 4 earthquake has more than doubled the number of reported supernatural events in Canterbury, a paranormal investigator says.  Christchurch Paranormal Investigators founder Anton Heyrick said his team had received an "interesting influx" of phone calls and emails after the 7.1-magnitude earthquake, with more than double the usual number of inquiries.  "People are calling us, saying that they had always felt like there was something in the house, but since the earthquake it had become more intense," he said.  Most cases related to strange noises, although one man said he had been attacked by a ghost.

Voodoo and voodoo dolls the cause of Ohio families tragedies!

Patricia Martins hurried out the door to take her kids to school just as the sun climbed from the horizon last week. Scattered around her car, she made a strange discovery: Five voodoo dolls with the names of her and her family pinned on them.  Some might have seen it as a Halloween prank, but to Martins, the act was a threat and a supernatural curse. She told her children not to touch the push pin-riddled dolls and called police.
Martins, a 39-year-old Mansfield resident, said her life hasn't been the same since the voodoo dolls entered it.

Ghostly image appears on CCTV camera at the Wolfe Pub in Cumbria, England

When a Cumbrian landlord was spooling though his CCTV footage, a chill went down his spine and he turned white, as though he had seen a ghost.  Well, Andrew Batemen, believes he had, indeed, seen a ghost. These spooky images taken from the CCTV of the pub, which used to be a funeral parlour, allow you to make up your own mind.  In a bizarre 35-second sequence, recorded in the middle of the night at The Wolfe Pub, Penrith, a Casper-the-Ghost-like ball of light is seen descending through the ceiling.

Witnesses near Florida bay area claim sighting of 'Normandy Nessie', a Florida lake monster

A family vacationing from Ohio says they spotted what they describe as a 30-foot long serpent like creature swimming in the water off Sand Key Park on Monday.  Was it another sighting of Normandy Nessie, the Bay area's version of the Loch Ness Sea Monster?  Russ Sittloh, who first video taped a mysterious black 20-foot long creature in the canal behind his Madeira Beach home more than a year ago, believes it could be Normandy Nessie.

Ghost hunter investigating a legendary North Carolina 'ghost train' hit and killed by a real train

A man who was with about a dozen people who were looking for a legendary "ghost train" in Iredell County was hit by a locomotive and killed early Friday morning.  The incident happened on a train trestle at 2:45 a.m. near the 900 block of Buffalo Shoals Road.  Robin Chapman, a spokesperson for Norfolk-Southern Railroad, said the eastbound train consisted of three locomotives and no freight cars.

My son and I went to South Carolina to visit his godmother Joy and her husband last weekend, Joy is also a believer in the paranormal and there is a church that is on a one lane dirt road out in the middle of no-where called Horns Creek Baptist Church dated back to 1790. There is a small cemetary on the side and a few graves in the back. All seemed to be dated in the 1800's and in need of repair. One is a little girl who died at age 2. Very sad. Anyways, we pulled up and got out of the truck and walked up the wooden steps into the church. What caught my eye was what appeared to be 2 peep holes.

Experts believe Mars may have fossilized life hidden withing it's rocks

Gravestone of Connecticut ghostly folk spirit, the Green Lady of Burlington , is stolen!

State police continue to investigate the theft of the "Green Lady" headstone from the cemetery on Upson Road.  The theft occurred during the overnight hours of July 20-21 and that more than one person was involved due to the size of the stone, according to a police press release.  A passerby reported the 200-pound headsone for Elisabeth Palmiter, who is known as the Green Lady, as is the cemetery, was missing.  Local folklore has it that Palmiter’s spirit appears in a greenish mist, but with a well-defined body. The oft-vandalized site attracts paranormal investigators and youths.

Reoccurring ghost of former student still haunts Kansas State University theater

Man claims innocence over death of wife during exorcism

For the past 29 months, Jan David Clark has sat in an isolation cell in the Ector County Detention Center wondering how things could have gone so awry.  Though he admits to killing his wife during an attempted exorcism in February 2008, he maintains he never intended to harm the woman he “loved and spoiled” for 17 years.  “That was not a willing thing that took place,” Clark, 63, recalled in a jailhouse interview Tuesday. “As far as I’m concerned, it’s still a supernatural thing.”

Crop circle near Woolaston attracts attention of Norwegian visiting the United Kingdom

Nils Kenneth Fordal, who was informed of the new crop circle near Woolaston on July 19, has studied crop circles for years.  Fordal’s been going to Wiltshire with fellow-enthusiast Dorthe Elisabeth Wennerfeldt for several weeks every year since 2006. The region has been known for its increasingly elaborate designs since the 1970s, National Geographic News reports.  He tells the BBC this particular formation “is a nice circle” and “quite special because it is the first time we have been into a formation so close to the water.”

Man possessed by 'evil, female genie' in Saudi Arabia, so his father chained to his bed for six years!

A Saudi man has been chained in a basement apartment for more than six years because his father believes he is possessed by an evil female genie.  'When he has fits he has convulsions and his entire body twists and his eyes become completely white,' said the father of the 29-year-old man who has been identified only as Turki.  'Then the voice of a woman can be heard coming from him.'

Ghost appears twice in different photo's at Edinburgh tour of scary places

Staff at one of Edinburgh’s spookiest tourist attractions have been left mystified after a ghostly figure showed up in the photographs of two separate tourists.  Bosses at Mary King’s Close say the blond haired woman who appeared in images from two different tours was definitely not a customer.  Both photos appear to show one person more than expected and staff believe that on close inspection, the ghostly figure appears to be the same woman.
