Alabama vampire (and Satanist) burns 'V' into teens forehead with fork!

A 20-year-old man who claims to police he is a vampire has been charged with assault after he burned a “V” into the face of a teenager.


Evan Francis Brown, Albertville, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for second-degree assault, a felony, after he appeared in Gadsden Municipal Court on misdemeanor charges, Gadsden Police detective Mike Hooks said.  Brown is charged in connection with an incident in October in which he allegedly heated a fork or a spoon on the stove and used it to burn a “V” into a 17-year-old’s forehead.

Philadelphia parents go on trial for toddlers death due to faith healing

A Philadelphia forensic pathologist told a Common Pleas Court jury Tuesday that a 2-year-old Rhawnhurst boy would almost certainly be alive had he received routine medical care before he died last year of pneumonia.  "This type of pneumonia, this type of bacteria, is preventable through vaccination and treatable with antibiotics," testified Assistant Medical Examiner Edwin Lieberman, referring to the disease that killed Kent Schaible in January 2009.

Champion, a town in Wisconsin, first place in U.S. to be a recognized as a holy site of the Virgin Mary's apparition

Dozens gathered to protest at the city's Civic Center where a Satanic group held a ritual Thursday night.  All the chanting, people and emotions were expected after the Church of Four Kings Princes announced it would be holding a satanic exorcism just a week before Halloween inside Oklahoma City's Civic Center.

Palmdale, California missing cult members found, safely, at local park, police question cult leader and hospitalize her for mental evaluation

Missing members of a break-off religious group, who were reported missing by their families Saturday, have been found alive and well at a park in Palmdale.  The 5 adults and 8 children were spotted late Sunday morning at Jackie Robinson Park in Palmdale, according to sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.  They're all alive and well, Whitmore said. Satanic cult burns down church in Bogota, Columbia

'Asian unicorn' spotted in remote Laos...or the very rare saola to conservationists

The first confirmed sighting in more than a decade of one of the rarest animals in the world, described as the 'Asian unicorn', was revealed today.  But the saola died after villagers took it into captivity in a remote region of Laos, conservationists said.  The critically endangered mammal, which is found in the mountains of Vietnam and Laos, was first discovered in 1992.

The rumours swept like wildfire among the residents in the capital, Nairobi and other major towns on Tuesday night, with many forwarding the stories to their friends, families and colleagues via text messages, warning them not to receive calls which will appear in a red colour.

Florida psychic and con artist sentenced to 18 months in prison

A Broward fortune teller, who police describe as a well-known scam-artist, will spend 18 months in prison, a Broward judge ordered Wednesday. Gina Marie Marks, 37, was already serving 18 months probation for swindling a woman out of nearly $300,000 when she was arrested in October.  Marks pleaded guilty Wednesday to grand theft, two counts of organized fraud and admitted to violating her probation. She also turned in a $400,000 check to partially repay her victims, according to The Sun Sentinel.

Ahava, Israel animal rescue worker saves cat from Satanic ritual sacrifice on Friday the 13th !

Police are investigating suspicions that youths belonging to "satanic cult" attempted to sacrifice a cat on Friday the 13th of this month at a cemetery in the North.  The "ritual" was interrupted by a volunteer from the Ahava animal rescue operation in Kiryat Tivon, who was on patrol at the time.  "We caught them in the act, with candles and stones arranged on a gravestone in the shape of a five-pointed star. Six Russian Satanists (and cannibals) get twenty years for murder in the city of Yaroslavl, near Moscow

 The six were found guilty of "murdering four people with the aim of carrying out an initiation ritual into a sect and of desecrating the bodies of the dead," a court in the city of Yaroslavl, north-east of Moscow, said in a statement. The group, four of whom were minors at the time, killed the four teenagers in June 2008, prosecutors said. They then desecrated the bodies and stole their possessions. 3-D crop circle appears in Wiltshire, England

The creators of the 70m-wide design in a field of wheat outside London remain a mystery.  The area is known as the UFO capital of Britain after repeated sightings of flying saucers and numerous crop circle appearances over the past few decades.  However, those hoping that the mysterious circle is a message are likely to be disappointed. Bosnian man claims meteorites that keep hitting his home is due to angry aliens!

Radivoke Lajic, 50, said that his house being hit by rocks from space was the result of an extraterrestrial grudge.  "I am obviously being targeted by extraterrestrials," he said.  "I don't know what I have done to annoy them but there is no other explanation that makes sense.  "The chance of being hit by a meteorite is so small that getting hit six times has to be deliberate."  Mr Lajic, who lives in the village of Gornji Lajici in northern Bosnia, near Prijedor, said that the meteorite strikes always happen when it is raining.  The first meteorite struck his house in November 2007.

Bookies in Kazakhastan blame Paul the Psychic Octopus for their World Cup loss!

Does this mean we finally have laser guns!?

The Laser Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) can either be used on its own or alongside a gunnery system.  In May, the laser was used to shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in a series of tests.  Raytheon said the solid state fibre laser produces a 50 kilowatt beam and can be used against UAV, mortar, rockets and small surface ships.

The idea of using lasers as weapons has been around almost as long as the laser itself, invented in 1960.
