Paranormal investigators record haunting EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) at Brunswick Railroad Museum, Maine

Paranormal investigators reveal audio recordings of ghosts recorded at the Brunswick Railroad Museum.  Daryll Keller with the Mason Dixon Paranormal Society, says there are 14 unexplained EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomenon).  "It sounds like it says have a nice day," he said about one of the recordings.

Student captures video of UFO near North Berwick, Scotland

Robbie Davidson, a student from Kirkcaldy, had been filming a strange cloud that appeared to have a rainbow in it, and says that what could be a disc-spaped object became visible ahead of the cloud.  He was travelling in van near North Berwick earlier this month when he made the sighting.

Captured rare white elephant good omen for political change according to Burmese officials

The female elephant was captured by officials on Saturday in the coastal town of Maungtaw in Rakhine state, according to news reports in Burma, also known as Myanmar.  She is aged about 38 years old and seven feet four inches tall, the English-language New Light of Myanmar said, although it did not mention where she would be kept.

Holy shit!! Monkeys are being trained as soldiers by the Taliban!?

Afghanistan's Taliban warlords have developed a bizarre way to deal with foreign forces: they have trained monkeys who love to eat bananas and peanuts to be killers.  Taliban forces have taught monkeys how to use the Kalashnikov, Bren light machine gun and trench mortars. They also teach them how to identify and attack soldiers wearing U.S. military uniforms.  Ironically, the idea of training monkeys to fight was first invented by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA in the Vietnam War initiated a program that used the peanuts and bananas as prizes to train some "monkey soldiers" to kill Vietnamese in the jungle, according to a report by British media on June 27, 2010.

Witchcraft blamed for Zimbabwe youth's ordeal with snake which caused chronic pain from his foot to his genitals!

A Bulawayo family has made a desperate plea for help after a 16-year-old boy claimed a SNAKE was entering his body through the foot and EATING his privates following sex with a married woman believed to be “locked” – a witchcraft practice common in parts of Zimbabwe.  The teenager from the Paddonhurst suburb told the Bulawayo Chronicle he met the woman – named as Sharon Manjoro -- at Bell Mine in Amaveni, Kwekwe.

Crop circle appears near Wiltshire, the UFO capital of England

The circular 90m (300ft) design, believed to represent the passage of the Moon and Sun, contains 193 rings, including six key circles and a seventh in the centre.  Crop circle expert Karen Alexander said: ‘This is the most complex circle so far this year.’ The formation, near the village of Mere, is the first in the area since 1997.

Murderer and Manson follower, Bruce Davis denied parole

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has rejected a recommendation to parole Bruce Davis, a member of Charles Manson’s cult who was convicted of taking part in killings in 1969. Mr. Davis, 67, is serving life sentences for two 1969 slayings, although he was not involved in the infamous murders by Manson followers of the actress Sharon Tate and six others in Los Angeles. He was convicted of helping kill Gary Hinman and Donald Shea, who lived in the Manson commune. Mr. Schwarzenegger, a Republican, said in a letter made public Monday that he was reversing a January decision by the state parole board because the murders were “especially heinous.”

Woman claims car crash caused by vampire sighting near Fruita, Colorado!

A Fruita woman who crashed her car into a canal Sunday night blamed a vampire for the accident.  The woman was driving on a dirt road near Fruita about 11 p.m., when she said she spotted a vampire in the middle of the road and put her car in reverse.  When troopers arrived, they found the woman's car in the canal but could not find the vampire.

Cult leaders promise no more ritual killings throughout community of Benin City, Nigeria

Barely one month after criminals and kidnappers were cursed by traditional worshippers in Benin City, the Edo State capital, secret cult leaders have pledged to stop cult-related killings.  The cult leaders were said to have met with the Benin monarch, Oba Erediauwa, last week where they promised to stop killing of young cult members.  Cult-related killings have claimed many lives in the past.  A source said the cult leaders told the monarch that their resolve to stop killings, especially young ones, was as a result of several meetings among themselves.  The source said the monarch urged the secret cult leaders to end the rampant cult related killings and work towards developing the state.

Ledbury, England police solve local UFO sighting mystery

Strange lights moving in the sky at night over a Midland town sparked a UFO mystery.  Locals called cops after oval lights and beams moving back and forth were spotted above Ledbury, Herefordshire, on the evening of June 12.  But the UFO mystery may have been caused by lights from the Ledbury Hunt Fox Rock, which was held on the same evening. Photos taken at the event show beams which investigators believe were mistaken for UFOs

Italian lawmaker asks for official UFO disclosure in front of the European Union

Will the European Union disclose any UFO files it might have, as one lawmaker called for several days ago, perhaps bringing new facts to a field long relegated by government officials as science fiction?  Maybe, but this isn't the first time world leaders have had a close encounter with UFOs.  As AOL News reported here earlier this week, Italian Northern League party leader Mario Borghezio has urged all 27-member EU governments to open the books and reveal any previously secret UFO files.

Star of vampire movie Twilight, Robert Pattinson distantly related to the historical Count Dracula?

A new twist provided by the tween-scream flick's promotion machine (just in time for Wednesday's release of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse") says researchers at Web site Ancestry.com claim to have discovered that the 24-year-old British actor is related to the 15th-Century ruler Vlad IV Tzepesch, a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler, a.k.a. that crazy killer freak who inspired Bram Stoker's classic novel, "Dracula."

A year after Farrah Fawcett died, her old neighbor Tori Spelling is promoting a new book and claiming to have talked to the seventies sex symbol's ghost. Crop circle appears across English countryside of Combe

Hundreds of crop circle enthusiasts have been flocking from across Europe to a field near Inkpen to spot this intricate design that has appeared in barley.  Jamie Saddler, whose bungalow backs onto the field near Walbury Hill, near Combe, said: “Hundreds of people turned up on Sunday, on their way to summer
solstice celebrations.  “There were people from Holland, Belgium and France. One group said they found a crystal in the middle of the crop circle and one person, from France, said that the circle gave them healing powers.”  Scientific research has shown that, in some formations, the crop has been super-heated causing steam to blow vent holes in the stem nodes and indicating microwave radiation as a possible source.

Japanese spacecraft finds 'hole' in the moon

New photos of the moon have revealed the most detailed views yet of a rare hole in the lunar surface — a pit large enough to swallow an entire football field whole.  High-resolution cameras aboard the Japanese Kaguya spacecraft first spotted the irregularly shaped chasm, located in Mare Ingenii on the moon's southern hemisphere. Now, NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has taken a new, up-close photo of the moon pit from lunar orbit.

Annual Roswell UFO Festival voted number five on the list of wackiest U.S. Summer events

When it is hot outside, people do the darndest things. One example of a wacky event is the Roswell UFO Festival in July.  Travelers come from all around the country to Roswell, New Mexico - in the southeastern part of the state - to "promote extraterrestrial education." "Expert" speakers teach attendants all there is to know about E.T.s.  Even Fido can come along, as there is an alien pet costume contest where anyone's pup can show off this season's "other-worldly couture."  Since the festival is held over July 4th weekend, the celebration is not lacking firework shows.  General admission is free, but certain events do have a charge.  On June 23, TripAdvisor ranked the UFO Festival as the fifth wackiest event this summer.

Arch Druid of Cornwall breaks curse left on team England at World Cup

England need all the help they can get to beat Slovenia today and advance to the second round of the World Cup.  So Fabio Capello's side will presumably be happy to hear that the curse that is the real reason for their struggles so far has been lifted.  Ed Prynn, the Archdruid of Cornwall, says he has lifted the magical burden that was placed on the team in Cape Town — by an African witch doctor.  The 73-year-old mystic, from Padstow, said that the likes of Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard, who have so far performed poorly at the tournament, will now be free to wreak havoc on opposition defences.

Theologian claims Jesus may not have died on the cross

The legend of his execution is based on the traditions of the Christian church and artistic illustrations rather than antique texts, according to theologian Gunnar Samuelsson.  He claims the Bible has been misinterpreted as there are no explicit references the use of nails or to crucifixion - only that Jesus bore a "staurus" towards Calvary which is not necessarily a cross but can also mean a "pole".

Crop circle appears in time for Summer Solstice on farm near Wiltshire

The summer solstice is traditionally a time of peace and love.  So it was particularly fitting that this crop circle should appear in a field in Wiltshire yesterday - right next to a heart-shaped wood.  But the sentiment wasn't exactly shared by the farmer whose land the circle appeared on. He blasted the design an 'act of vandalism'.

Clouds mistaken for UFO's over mountain range near Mayo, Ireland

IT was nearly a case of calling Mulder and Scully last Friday evening as strange cloud formations appeared over west Mayo which would not be out of place on an episode of X-Files.
Fortunately, an invasion by another life-form was not being planned and instead it was a more innocent collection of Lenticular clouds, which are often mistaken for UFOs because of their unusual uniform surface and saucer-like shape. The clouds appeared over the skies of Mayo on Friday evening and their strange shape made for spectacular viewing, and much discussion.

Brain scans can learn more about a person then even they may know themselves!

Brain scans may be able to predict what you will do better than you can yourself, and might offer a powerful tool for advertisers or health officials seeking to motivate consumers, researchers said on Tuesday.  They found a way to interpret "real time" brain images to show whether people who viewed messages about using sunscreen would actually use sunscreen during the following week.  The scans were more accurate than the volunteers were, Emily Falk and colleagues at the University of California Los Angeles reported in the Journal of Neuroscience.

40% of Americans believe Jesus Christ will return by 2050!

Americans are largely optimistic about the future, according to the poll from the Pew Research Center For The People and The Press/Smithsonian Magazine.  By mid century, 71 per cent believe cancer will be cured, 66 per cent say artificial limbs will work better than real ones and 81 per cent believe computers will be able to converse like humans.

Sabbath Assembly becomes official 'house band' of the Process Church

Sabbath Assembly is the house band of the Process Church of the Final Judgment. The band wants to revive this ‘60s religious cult by writing an album based on their hymns. The main tenet of the Process Church is a reconciliation of Christ and Satan. They were accused of associating with the Manson Family. Apparently, they began as a sub-sect of Scientology but were pronounced heretics by L. Ron Hubbard. But see, all of this information begins to eclipse the band.

Kenya man claims his murder victim was a ritual sacrifice for human hair

The latest man to claim that he is a killer has told police that he belongs to a cult that specialises in ritual killings. The man, who is said to come from Uyoma in Rarieda District, was arrested after claiming that he killed Ms Devina Amenya in a lodging in Keroka town.  He has told police that the cult has branches in Kisumu, Kericho, and Nairobi. “He said they kill their victims and shave off the hair, which they present to their leader every last Friday of the month as proof that they have accomplished a mission,” said local police boss Shadrack Maithya.

'Crying judge' (from the infamous "Anna Nicole Smith trial) pitches 'Psychic Court' paranormal reality show

Are signals from extraterrestrials being missed by our astronomers?

Last week Hubble Space Telescope images definitively showed that the bright flash of light seen on Jupiter was simply a meteor. Albeit, a blinding bright meteor to be seen across 400 million miles of interplanetary space. As reported by Ian O’Neill Hubble failed to find any telltale debris as seen in Jupiter comet and asteroid impacts.  Now Hubble astronomers tell us that Jupiter super-meteors might be detectable as frequently every few days. Australian amateur astronomer Anthony Wesley just got lucky because he was viewing a video transmission of Jupiter when the brilliant flash appeared.  This event was sobering to me because my mind invariably wandered to wondering if a signal from an extraterrestrial civilization might be just as transient.

Psychologist tries to understand mysterious of the 'Placebo Effect'

The phrase “mind-body connection” has many connotations. For some, it’s shorthand for New Age quackery. For others, it’s a source of hope and a way to reconcile their spiritual life with modern science.  For Tor D. Wager, it’s just another day at the office.  Dr. Wager (pronounced WAY-gur) is a professor of psychology at the University of Colorado. His specialty is neuroscience and brain imaging, but his passion is the placebo effect — a phenomenon that has undergone a resurgence in recent years and is now being studied by researchers in many corners of science.

Seventh graders discover 'cave' on Mars

A group of 16 seventh-grade students have found a cave on Mars using the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) camera aboard NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter.  The schoolgoers were using the THEMIS to find lava tubes on the Red Plant when they came across a small black feature straddling one of the tubes.  The feature, identified as a cave or "skylight", near the Pavonis Mons volcano was a hole, punched in the top of a hollow tube.  The students, from Evergreen Middle School in Cottonwood, California, were participating in the Mars Student Imaging Program (MSIP), a part of Arizona State University's Mars Education Program.

Frequent UFO sightings made over Buckhurst Hill, Essex

A second sighting of strange orange objects in the skies over the north of the borough has been reported.  Producer Kate Sioftanou reckons she saw similar UFOs to those spotted by former pilot David Crook in Buckhurst Hill earlier this month.  Ms Sioftanou said she spotted two ball-shaped lights from the back garden of her home in New Wanstead on Saturday June 5.

UFO caught on camera over Scottish Highlands

In recent weeks there have been numerous reports of mysterious unidentified flying objects in the sky at various locations around Inverness, Easter Ross and Fort William, and one of the latest is backed by amazing unexplained photos.  As reported last week, one of the most recent sightings took place in Fort William when smelter worker Stephen MacLeod, of Riverside Grove, Lochyside, saw strange lights while walking his dog just after midnight.  On the back of Mr MacLeod's report, other witnesses have now come forward having seen unexplained objects travelling across the night sky.

Residents of Capri, Florida witness bright, white pulsating UFO's

On April 8, I wrote about the unusual sightings that my husband and I watched over Johnson's Bay for three consecutive nights.  We discovered that we were not the only ones to see the bright white ball of light that appeared out of nowhere and then sat silently about 150 feet above the water and mangroves March 27 through 29.  Morgan Beall, state section director with the Mutual Unidentified Flying Object Network, also known as MUFON, read this story and came to the Isles of Capri to investigate.

Mysterious object hovers over West Lothian, Scotland

John Dickson spotted the object on Wednesday night at around 10.35pm over Livingston.  He described it as heading in a north-east direction towards Edinburgh Airport.  Mr Dickson said that it was moving slowly and not making any sound, and was glowing with an orange light before it appeared to go dark and disappeared into the cloud cover.  The object reappeared a short time later, and was heading to the south west, before finally disappearing behind the clouds.

We see the destruction like a live news feed, without context, without explanation, and our imaginations paint the back story with our deepest fears: collision, terrorism, tragic accident.  With no commentary except the occasional audio interruption of the NASA controllers, the video feels like the pause in a historical retrospective, the quiet stillness between scripted voice-overs that lets the audience reflect on the tragedy. A moment of silence for the dead. The man who created the videos is known online as The Faking Hoaxer (TFH for short), and he has a talent for creating footage that earns the rarest of compliments: It feels real.

Two men hack 'sorcerer' to death with axes in Cambodian

Two men who allegedly hacked to death with axes a man they accused of being a sorcerer are set to face Kampong Speu provincial court today, where they are likely to be charged with murder, the provincial police chief said Tuesday.  Keo Pisey said his staff had identified the two suspects based on tips from residents of Bor Seth district’s Por Angkrong commune, where the crime occurred. The victim, 44-year-old Mul Sophal, was killed on Sunday night, he said.

North Carolina man encounters blonde, six-fingered Bigfoot on property

He was 10 feet tall, with a long beard and yellowish-blond hair, Tim Peeler says.  And in the early-morning hours of June 5, Peeler told authorities, the creature – a Cleveland County version of Bigfoot – wandered onto Peeler’s property in the rural northwest part of the county.  The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office has filed the case as a “suspicious person report” but says it is keeping an open mind.

Mysterious cloud appears  behind aircraft 

As turboprop and jet aircraft climb or descend under certain atmospheric conditions, they can inadvertently "seed" mid-level clouds, causing narrow bands of snow or rain to develop and fall to the ground, new research finds.  Through this seeding process, the aircraft leave behind odd-shaped holes or channels in the clouds that have long fascinated the public.  The key ingredient for developing these holes in the clouds: water droplets at subfreezing temperatures, below about 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-15 degrees Celsius).  As air is cooled behind aircraft propellers or over jet wings, the water droplets freeze and drop toward Earth.

A six-story statue of Jesus Christ was struck by lightning and burned to the ground, leaving only a blackened steel skeleton and pieces of foam that were scooped up by curious onlookers Tuesday.  The "King of Kings" statue, one of southwest Ohio's most familiar landmarks, had stood since 2004 at the evangelical Solid Rock Church along Interstate 75 in Monroe, just north of Cincinnati.  The lightning strike set the statue ablaze around 11:15 p.m. Monday, Monroe police dispatchers said.  The sculpture, about 62 feet tall and 40 feet wide at the base, showed Jesus from the torso up and was nicknamed Touchdown Jesus because of the way the arms were raised, similar to a referee signaling a touchdown. It was made of plastic foam and fiberglass over a steel frame, which is all that remained Tuesday

SETI institute chooses David Morrison as it's new director

A new director has stepped up to lead the Carl Sagan Center for Study of Life in the Universe at the SETI Institute, taking the reins from previous long-time director and SETI pioneer, Frank Drake.  The new chief, David Morrison, was appropriately the first doctoral student of famed astronomer Carl Sagan. In addition to his new directorial position at the SETI Institute, Morrison retains (part time) his previous position at NASA Ames Research Center, located in Moffett Field, Calif., where he is Director of the NASA Lunar Science Institute and Senior Scientist for Astrobiology.
